Time to head out to the mid-west and aiming for 25k with my 2-stage.
Day 5 at LDRS was the day to launch. Weather perfect! Boost perfect. Separation perfect. Air start perfect, then BOOM about 1 second later. Forward closure of sustainer motor blew out. This was epoxied & double o-ringed. Booster landed about 3000' north of pad. Sustainer was found by a range "runner". Never found the NC or AV bay. Assumed it was all destroyed in CATO as I had no tracking data, both RF & GPS. Still have more booster data to upload but will have to wait another day.
Chris Short warrantied everything right on site!
Next year I will try again!
