Description

Prepping this rocket for a possible flight this coming launch day. Will be short like there will be a meeting at 2:30 PM so the field closes down around 12:30 PM. A real bummer but that the clubs procedure and I agree with it.

Did the stratologger tests on both with new batteries and all went well. Will secure them with Z-ties. - Done 01/10/2017 - .

Had to do some modifications, The av bay was really to snug in the lower frame, did sand it out a bit and will use baby powder at the launch-site to make sure it slides in and out better. had no problem with the previous launch, so maybe moisture but it is Blue tube so..?

Also did some wraps of masking tape on the shock cord were is exits the casing. that part has a locking wrench with some sharp (4) parts were the 'key' goes to tighten it. just to make sure. Will make charges tomorrow, on Friday the 13th !!!! mmhhhaaaa.

Pyros made... Drogue packed, Pyro in lower frame with dogbarf, only need Tag tracker.

Update 01/14/2017 - YES !! Very successful take of and flight again ! That Ultra Violent Express flies great ! Thanks Jeff Millner !!! Really happy with it. Weather was great, early morning rain that lasted till 9 am but then it starts to clear up fast very fast !! Nice warm weather also. Launches on Jason's launcher pad 15 !! That made it a great take off ! Straight up ! Had no angle at all and landed in the west field with some old dead tree. The rocket came down all the way through those bush trees with no harm. Just a few scratches from railing it on the launches, had to be more carefully next time !!! Jason helped me with the recovery some walk but all by all great day ! Still have to examine the stratologger data!

Also all the Iphone still came out great !!! But that's a glass window in hat Avionics bay.

And thanks Jason for the video !

Thanks Thea for those wonderful high def images.. !

Freddy this rocket spins too much - you need nor more than one rotation! Fix it !

Also why does it not go more than 2 G's? You need a better accelerometer otherwise that data is crap!
