This is a small version of the Mighty Nutcracker. Prior to building the Mighty Nutcracker, I built this rocket to make sure it "looked" right. I also test flew it to make sure it was a solid design.

Classic Estes Big Bertha. My daughter drew this picture of what she wanted the rocket to look like. It was a tough task, but I think it came together nicely. I used red electrical tape to save myself the complex paint job. It made the rocket heavy but it

I have made a replacement for the Bonga. Humidity from being lost for a month outside finally wore out the original Bonga. Basic Estes style cardstock / balsa rocket equipped with LEDs for nosecone and aft. My intent was just a quick coat of paint without

This was a fun rocket to build and paint! My daughter and I used fingerpaints to make the butterflys. Clear coat to preserve them as finger paint is water based. I used packaging tape to preserve the one on the clear tube section. Very nice flyer!

The EZI-65 is wrapped in twice in 1.7 ounce kevlar. The fins have been rounded removing the sharp edges on the junction of the tip/leading/trailing edge. This rocket has flown many times to 9.5k and finally CATOed on a L265 12k attempt. Repaired & fly

I kinda went INSANE on this build... This is the classic Estes Interceptor (original size). I found the 2007 remake of the original version on ebay. I then oversized the motor mount to handle D & E motors. CATO first flight, minor damage - inside is b

Starting a new build. I'm hoping to get this project done within the next year. Then I need to plan a trip to Black Rock Desert. The design has been rendered in OpenRocket and I have tried to push the fins as far back as possible to insure the rocket stay

All custom components were either vacuum bagged or weight packed to reduce epoxy, increasing the strength/weight ratio including the fins. The motor mount is 98mm. The nose cone is a Von Karman custom build. This is a complete custom glass build, except f

Estes Splendor. My daughter gave me a tall order when she wanted it to be painted like a cow-girl. I believe I accomplished the goal! 16 inch chute has 3 inch spill hole.

This was built from scratch using a PDF of the original kit plans from 1980.I then photo-shopped a scan of original decals until I was happy with them. They were then printed and laminated. Photos show the process of the build.

This rocket is nearly identical to the 29mm motor version. It just has a smaller motor mount. Both rockets were crafted to test iphone software.
