This is a small version of the Mighty Nutcracker. Prior to building the Mighty Nutcracker, I built this rocket to make sure it "looked" right. I also test flew it to make sure it was a solid design.

This was a fun rocket to build and paint! My daughter and I used fingerpaints to make the butterflys. Clear coat to preserve them as finger paint is water based. I used packaging tape to preserve the one on the clear tube section. Very nice flyer!

I kinda went INSANE on this build... This is the classic Estes Interceptor (original size). I found the 2007 remake of the original version on ebay. I then oversized the motor mount to handle D & E motors. CATO first flight, minor damage - inside is b

Starting a new build. I'm hoping to get this project done within the next year. Then I need to plan a trip to Black Rock Desert. The design has been rendered in OpenRocket and I have tried to push the fins as far back as possible to insure the rocket stay

All custom components were either vacuum bagged or weight packed to reduce epoxy, increasing the strength/weight ratio including the fins. The motor mount is 98mm. The nose cone is a Von Karman custom build. This is a complete custom glass build, except f

This was built from scratch using a PDF of the original kit plans from 1980.I then photo-shopped a scan of original decals until I was happy with them. They were then printed and laminated. Photos show the process of the build.
