Description

This is a first test-Launch with radio and phone in nose cone. Also WHISTLE tracker will be in lower booster. Streamer 135 feet in booster, hopefully I will get my *Go-Pro* like camera on the chock cord.

Update 03/12/2020 - Installed the motor K500 All greased up, Installed the Drogue charge. Made the Z-ties (2) for the booster / streamer. Also loaded the streamer in chute protector, dog-barf on top and z-ties (2). In upper bay I already loaded the main chute and made z-ties (1). Camera and Whistle will be in the booster with small chute protector. Phone will be in Av Bay... Nexus 4 that is, in nose cone will be Nexus 5x phone and radio. All camunication will be recorded.

Charging most of the electronics now:

GoPro 1

GoPro 2

Nexus 4

Nexus 5x

Blue Tooth Dongle

Radios (2)

Canon Camera 1 & Canon Camera 2

Small Camera 1 (stills) & Small Camera 2 (Video ground)

Whistle GPS

My personal Samsung phone for recording radio.

Update 03/13/2020 - Charging all the rest of the electronics, will do phone/radio test later todayand check the stratologgers. All charges installed and taped off.Stratologgers check - Ok

Update 03/14/2020 - LAUNCH DAY - prepping went smooth, just a lot of stuff to load, like nexus 4 in avbay, need the other sled for this avbay... the camera on the shock cord and the Whistle, all good in chute protector. No extra dog-barf needed, than the nexus 5x and the radio in the nose cone, went kinda smooth and closed off with some foam cushion before I screw on the lid there, was talking loud and clear over the radio's.. BUT, as minutes and hours went by, lots of delays like over coming air traffic circling, and had to swap out the igniter two times !! Indeed motor did not fire the first two times and than Tim gave me a igniter made by Scot borders with extra dip, so I had those two igniters in there (one extra one from Bernie). and that did it. Tim explained why it did not fire, it seems that CTI does not put those black powder pellets in there all the time, so Tim recommended to use Aerotech igniters, which I will do and buy a bunch from motorman Brian ! Ok so it took off the third time with a great flight up and descent was great also, streamer worked great again ! But Radio'a died, low battery, BUT the Nexus 5x has great data despite sitting in the sun for hours on the pad !!!!!!! Love that shit a lot !!! If the rocket launched the first time I had also great data from the Nexus 4 and communication over the radio, I had great communication for a long time but than after 2 hours it was gone dead ! The Blue Tooth dongle was also still working, I guess that I did not charged the radios all the way up, I was doing some check the day before and did not feel the need to charge them again. Again great day depite the distances between members of the corona virus scare !! Will check the stratologgers later and post data soon.
