You can see the main chute backup charge and one of its wadding(I think I packed three or four in that one), shortly after firing.

Had the first charge failed, this charge was firmly seated inside the main rocket tube. As designed, since the first one fired, it was ejected with the parachute. This charge just created a loud pop outside of the airframe aiding in locating the rocket in the air if we hadn't visually found it yet.
