Description

Third flight - adding drogue to booster.

Great flight, separation was perfect. Slightly longer delay in sustainer ignition than I would have liked but that will be fixed on next launch. I added a drogue to booster to slow descent but apparently it still came in hot. Sustainer recovery deployed perfectly. Both landed about 100feet apart about 200 feet SE of away cell.

Lot of prep work & wiring. Think I have it dialed in now. Probably spent more time just figuring out the electronics & timing. Have to really study the openrocket data. It is all about timing & knowing when to separate the booster & then the right time to ignite the sustainer. More challenging than a dual deploy. I have 2 more in the works. One is a 3" rocket & another one is a 4" to 3". This is a 3" to 4" transition I had custom made! Maybe black rock?

Wow, looks awesome - Who makes that chrome adapter? Wildman?

It is pollished aluminum with CF coupler (removable) for sustainer. Charles Ogino of Carolina Composites made it - custom order. Took a while but it is a perfect fit.
