Description

This was the second loss of my ARCAS. Flown on a Loki J712. 1.1 second burn, flight was supposed to reach 40 Gs and approach Mach 1. I beleieve the rocket encountered drag separation at motor burnout? Really don't know. The raw Statologger data is attached but it needs some cleaning up. Strattologger fired drogue at 6.4 seconds into flight and main at 16.5 seconds into flight but the main must have deployed at motor burnout as it was shredded.2 fins were cracked on landing which are repairable. No other damage but I lost a GPS tracker which became detached apparently due to high G force. Sad day!

Update - send my straologger data to Perfect flight for anlysis and he confirmed my suspision. Apparently right at motor burnout, the booster separated andall hell broke loose at right about 1 second after launch, which corresponds with the steep drop off in the motor's thrust curve. The friction fit booster opened up first and the shock of the drogue opening at speed created enough jerk to open the main and the rest was history and was off to a bad day!
