Great fix.  My DX3 shattered its airframe almost exactly the same way.  I ended up cutting the tube halfway down the fins and used the fins as a sort of coupler with the upper centering ring on the motor tube to keep it straight. Worked well for flight, but durability remains to be seen.  Your carbon fiber wrap should work well in keeping it sturdy!

Thanks for your kind words, This is a rocket from my friend that cato'ed and only the fin can survived, and since it's a 54 mm MM I really liked the idea of fixing it. for now it has a wrap of that Hybrid Kevlar/Carbon fiber and after sanding I will finish it with a finish layer(s) of E-glass to make it all smooth and nice and then sanding and painting and fly it again..
